Our neighbourhood has an event hall, an open shed-like structure with a pitched roof. It is most often used for funerals, and the occasional wedding or badminton game. The underside of the roof (at least 2 storeys high) has an interesting and beautiful texture that doesn't look like the usual gypsum board. If you were to take a closer look, it looks just like shredded paper.
A recycled material that resembles thatch and absorbs noise. It seems to make perfect sense.
