The last ten miles

Yah-Leng says: " 'A journey of a hundred miles, the ninetieth mile is but midway.' This is something that I keep close to heart - for any project or life mission we are on. The going is toughest towards the end, and the last hundred-metre dash is the most important and possibly most difficult. And so we must take even greater care, and be more focused and tenacious to finish well. Be prepared to jump through hoops or hit a road bump, but never, never give up. This is part of life."

Yah-Leng Yu was formally trained at the Art Institute of Boston before moving to New York City where she worked with some of the world’s most interesting names. Some of these brands include Versace, Bvlgari, Vivienne Westwood, Oscar de la Renta, Ferragamo, and Frederic Fekkai. Her works have been also recognized and honored by Tokyo Type Director’s Club, AIGA, Brand New Awards, HOW, Communication Arts, Print Magazine, and more. In 2007, Yah-Leng moved to the tropical island of Singapore where she co-founded Foreign Policy Design Group.

Good Sweat is an old-fashioned reminder that what matters is not the scale of the work or its reward, but to take care and to take pride in whatever we do. Good Sweat also celebrates the spirit of those who persist, however humble or challenging their job may be, in perfecting their craft.
